FREE Community Outreach - Movie Night

Every Friday Night at 7:00PM

We are offering a CommUNITY wide summer outreach, The Path meets weekly and is a combination of local young adults from churches through out the area.

We were moved greatly and now have rallied together to organize a special Summer showing the screening of TO SAVE A LIFE every Friday night starting May 7 - Aug. 27 at 3710 NW Topeka Blvd. This event is available to everyone in the community. We are providing one show time at 7:00 PM.

TO SAVE A LIFE is the story of all-American teen Jake Taylor, who seems to have it all. But after a childhood friend’s death, Jake’s world turns upside down, and he is forced to make a decision that could change his life forever. TO SAVE A LIFE is about making unexpected choices and sacrifices, while having the courage and determination to persevere against all odds.

At some point, every teen has to decide: "What's my life going to be about?" TO SAVE A LIFE dares to bring that question into their world, encouraging them to answer it with boldness, honesty and compassion.

In response to the topics brought up in the movie, this will not only be a fun event full of great music, games, and to meet new friends. More importantly, this will be a chance for any young adult who may be dealing with some of these issues to pair up with a mentor and seek help.

We are still welcoming pastoral leadership to mentor, young adults wanting to reach out, and individual donations to sponsor ones curriculum or business sponsors to contribute to door prizes.

Thank you in helping us reach the young adults in Topeka and surrounding communities. Susan Evans or Kristi Schutter The Path

The Compliment Guys Spread Encouragement

It started with wanting to do something nice, to brighten someone's day, to make a difference. So Purdue University student Brett Wescott went to a busy spot on campus and began complimenting people anyone, everyone, total strangers who walked past. When he told a friend, Cameron Brown joined, and the pair spent several hours every Wednesday dishing out compliments, even through rain, snow or sickness. They became known as The Compliment Guys.

"Nice shoes."

"You look very professional today!"

Brett and Cameron look for positives in every individual and take the initiative to pass them on. Sometimes strangers give them funny looks, but most people are visibly brightened. Their movement has even spread to other campuses. "As Cam repeatedly says: ‘There's something good in everyone. You just have to take the time to look, ’ " Brett told the New York Times.
