FREE Community Outreach - Movie Night

Every Friday Night at 7:00PM

We are offering a CommUNITY wide summer outreach, The Path meets weekly and is a combination of local young adults from churches through out the area.

We were moved greatly and now have rallied together to organize a special Summer showing the screening of TO SAVE A LIFE every Friday night starting May 7 - Aug. 27 at 3710 NW Topeka Blvd. This event is available to everyone in the community. We are providing one show time at 7:00 PM.

TO SAVE A LIFE is the story of all-American teen Jake Taylor, who seems to have it all. But after a childhood friend’s death, Jake’s world turns upside down, and he is forced to make a decision that could change his life forever. TO SAVE A LIFE is about making unexpected choices and sacrifices, while having the courage and determination to persevere against all odds.

At some point, every teen has to decide: "What's my life going to be about?" TO SAVE A LIFE dares to bring that question into their world, encouraging them to answer it with boldness, honesty and compassion.

In response to the topics brought up in the movie, this will not only be a fun event full of great music, games, and to meet new friends. More importantly, this will be a chance for any young adult who may be dealing with some of these issues to pair up with a mentor and seek help.

We are still welcoming pastoral leadership to mentor, young adults wanting to reach out, and individual donations to sponsor ones curriculum or business sponsors to contribute to door prizes.

Thank you in helping us reach the young adults in Topeka and surrounding communities. Susan Evans or Kristi Schutter The Path

LIFE SAVING STORIES

Rachel's Challenge Spreads Wave of Kindness

Rachel Scott was known for her kindness and compassion. Tragically, she was the first victim killed in the Columbine High School shootings on April 20, 1999. Yet, thanks to her father, Darrell, Rachel's death has not been in vain. He and his team have traveled the country, sharing Rachel's diaries and story with millions of students, and millions have accepted Rachel's Challenge to look for the little things that make a big difference—and to start a chain reaction of compassion and kindness.

One 9th-grader says, "Your message helped me to overcome my sister's death and prevent my own." And 13-year-old J.B. says, "Before our assembly I was one who would pick on others. After I had a new perspective on treating others.  I now see the mental and physical damage name calling causes on others.  I regret all the years I did such a bitter thing. I now treat others with much respect and stick up/comfort those who need it." The chain reaction keeps spreading. Check it out at RachelsChallenge.org
